MUSEUM QUALITY HO PIKE
Joe Summers' T&P HO Pike
The late Joe Summers built one of the finest HO layout we've seen in a long time. Sadly Joe passed away but not without leaving this museum quality HO display. All the buildings and scenes are scratch built and the attention to detail is remarkable. View for yourself the fantastic works of Joe Summers.
Joe's backyard building was 12 x 20 feet and the layout works its way around the wall with a center peninsula. The structures on his layout were scratch built and most of the locomotives and rolling stock were hand painted. The track was hand layed and the landscaping the very highest quality with attention to every detail.
Joe, an avid historian, was very knowledgable about the Texas & Paicific Railroad and had a massive archive of material and photographs of the Texas & Paicific Railroad through East Texas.
A contributor to this web site had the good fortune to visit Joe's pike and take pictures. Sad that we don't have video of the layout in operation, these photographs were loaded into a slideshow for us to remember Joe and his beautiful HO Pike.
